Wind Blown Trounces Truro Foes

There was a serious mismatch in Friday’s feature pace at Truro Raceway considering Wind Blown blew away his rivals by more than a dozen lengths in a sharp clocking of 1:54.1.

The free-legged Wind Blown was parked by Ashestodiamonds to the quarter pole in :27.3 before the former cleared to the top for trainer/driver Bernard McCallum. Wind Blown then rolled the field through middle splits of :56.3 and 1:25.2 before using a :28.4 closing panel to complete the beatdown.

His winning margin was 12-3/4 lengths over Imalookertoo, with Dont Ask Logan beaten 14 lengths while grabbing the show dough in the $2,000 affair.

Sent off as the 1-9 favourite, the four-year-old son of Mach Three-Wind Warning won for the fifth time this season – and for the eighth time in his career – for owners Douglas E Polley, Douglas R Polley and Gordon & Joanne McComb. The lion’s share of the loot lifted his lifetime earnings to $115,330.
