Nobettorplacetobe overcame his assigned outside post position on Sunday night (July 23) and continued his consistent run in Rideau Carleton Raceway's $6,650 Winners Over Handicap for trainer/driver Guy Gagnon.
Nobettorplacetobe worked his way to the lead through a :27.3 quarter and never surrendered it from that point forward. The 8-5 second favourite carved out middle panels of :57.2 and 1:25.3 then held off the quick-closing Bestofbest Hanover to win by half a length in 1:53.2.
The five-year-old son of Bettors Delight has finished no worse than third since joining Gagnon's stable in June and has won four of his six races since including his last two. Nobetterplacetobe has earned back his $15,000 price tag after being claimed at Rideau on June 4 by Ecuries Guy Gagnon Inc., Gestion Louis Latulippe Inc. and Gestion Bruno Blouin Inc.
The win was his 18th lifetime and pushed his career bankroll to $159,424.
