On The Glass and Yannick Gingras got away sixth in the fifth race main event while Delightful Diva (Ron Pierce) raced past the :26.1 opening quarter. As she headed down the backstretch, On The Glass moved underway from the backfield and picked up cover from Omen Hanover (Brian Sears) just past the half in :54.2.

Omen Hanover charged up alongside the leader and poked a head in front at the 1:22.4 three-quarters mark while Gingras angled On The Glass three-wide. On The Glass swept past a stubborn Omen Hanover in deep stretch to win in 1:50.2 by one and three-quarter lengths. Ideal Nectarine (John Campbell) rallied from third over to finish third.

On The Glass paid $ 4.40 to win as the popular choice. The four-year-old daughter of Art Major-Abbey Won earned her 10th win in 21 starts this year for trainer Ron Burke and owners Joseph Di Scala and Cynthia Massari of Katonah, New York. The career winner of 14 races has earned $214,500 of her $355,353 bankroll this season.

Friday’s card also featured a $25,000 Three-Year-Old Filly Open Trot in which odds-on favourite Bar Slide and driver Tim Tetrick advanced to the lead from third after the opening :27.2 first quarter and bypassed the remaining stations of :55.2 and 1:24.4 en route to a five and three-quarter length score in a career-best 1:52.4. The winning time equaled the fastest mile in North America this season for a three-year-old trotting filly set by Action Broadway in the Casual Breeze Stakes at Mohawk on June 11. Orizaba (George Brennan) and Power Of Motion (David Miller) finished second and third.

Bar Slide (Yankee Glide-Marla Bar) paid $3.40 to win for the second time in seven outings this year. The Joseph Holloway-trained filly, purchased for $37,000 at the Harrisburg sale, is owned by Fredericka Caldwell of Georgetown, Kentucky and Bluestone Farms LLC of Hopewell, New Jersey. Bar Slide’s earnings climbed to $90,030 for the year and $169,472 lifetime.
