Isabelle Darveau trainee Black Tie Bash landed in the winner's circle of the $10,500 Preferred Handicap Trot for the third-consecutive week when Rob Shepherd piloted him to a 1:55.1 win in the feature on Thursday night (July 21).

Shepherd settled the four-year-old Chapter Seven gelding in sixth while Overserved swept to the lead after a :27.3 first quarter. He cruised to a :57.1 half as Shepherd caught some cover from Ripped And Ready. Black Tie Bash advanced to within three lengths of the lead as the tempo quickened to three-quarters in 1:25.4 and he charged around the final turn to snag the lead and kick away by 2-1/2 lengths to win. Beyond Kronos closed to take second while Overserved faded to third.

Black Tie Bash won his fourth race from 12 starts this season and his 10th from 48 overall and has now earned $105,168. Shepherd owns the gelding, who paid $8.10 to win.
