Fifth Straight For 'Dream On'

Early road trouble could not derail Dream On Dream On ($2.50) from capturing his fifth straight victory on Sunday (July 21) at Inverness Raceway, doing so in the featured $1,050 top-level pace.

Assigned the outside post in the field of six by virtue of his recent success in winners-over company, Dream On Dream On used to moves to achieve the lead. After being held up by a pair of breaking rivals through a :29.2 quarter, Mark MacQuarrie brushed the eight-year-old If I Can Dream gelding from fourth to first in a :29.4 second sectional, clearing early pacesetter Windmeredontmatter (Lewis MacDonell) and refusing to look back.

The pair continued one-two through the entire second circuit, and Dream On Dream On maintained 1-1/2 lengths of clearance to win in 1:58.4. Southwest Bliss (Andrew MacLean) stalked comfortably throughout and chased evenly to take third.

Raymond MacKinnon trains 23-time winner Dream On Dream On for Kayla Habicht Walker.
