Driver Austin Sorrie dominated the evening's eight-race card of harness racing at Georgian Downs on Saturday, July 20 while teaming up with trainer Ron MacDonald for three of his five wins.
Sorrie was successful right out of the gate, driving three consecutive winners to kick off the Saturday night action. He won the opener with seven-year-old pacer Frownies Miracle ($2.80) for trainer Dean Nixon and then scored with eight-year-old pacer Passionate Prince ($5.10) for conditioner Courtney Robson.
The 24-year-old Freelton, Ont. reinsman followed up his sweep of the early Daily Double by supplying successful steers for a trio of Ron MacDonald-trained winners, starting with sophomore trotting colt Jay Richard Nyce ($2.40). Sorrie and MacDonald teamed up for back-to-back wins in the sixth and seventh races to complete their multiple-win night with the maiden-breaking three-year-old colt trotter Saturday ($2.90) and veteran pacer Mach Silver ($8.40), who earned his third straight victory. All three winners were making their debuts from the MacDonald stable.
