Tioga Downs welcomes two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for three-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday (July 23).
Earthwindfire (pictured above with Jack Pelling) should be the one to beat in the $60,300 first division. The 6-5 morning line favourite is a filly by American Ideal and trained by Brett Pelling. She is coming off a win in the $115,000 Park Filly Pace Final at Yonkers. The filly is four-for-four this season including NYSS wins at Monticello and Saratoga. She has won more than $400,000 in her career.
The second choice in the first division is the 3-1 Bruce Clarke-trained Turn On The Charm (Marcus Miller). The filly by Huntsville has five wins this season including NYSS wins at Buffalo, Saratoga, Monticello and Vernon Downs.
Southwind Bella (Jack Pelling), the 3-2 morning line choice, and Twin B Joe Fresh (Jason Bartlett), the 9-5 second choice, will square off in the $60,300 second division.
Brett Pelling trains Southwind Bella. The daughter of Huntsville has two wins and four places this season including a NYSS win at Saratoga.
Twin B Joe Fresh has two wins this season including a NYSS win at Vernon Downs. The filly by Roll With Joe has 10 career victories and has amassed more than $700,000 in purses. She is trained by Chris Ryder.
The 14-race card starts at 1 p.m.
