With the top three places reserved for the longest shots on the board, Nasey posted an upset triumph at 7-1 odds in the $28,000 featured conditioned trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Tuesday, July 2.

Passarino (Tyler Borth) was the first to the top with 2-1 odds sending him as the bettors' choice in the mile. As he controlled the tempo with a :27.2 quarter, 10-1 Mrmayor Hanover (Louis-Philippe Roy) settled into second. The field continued to line up, leaving Nasey and Doug McNair back in fifth. McNair tugged his right line and sent Nasey overland through the half in :57, but the pair made no progress on the outside. Still in fifth at the three-quarters in 1:25.2, Nasey watched as the field shifted around him. Nasey finally chipped away at the distance going into the final turn, achieving second by the top of the stretch. Mrmayor Hanover maintained command of the lead and the longest shot on the board at 45-1 odds, Serenity Cruise (Bob McClure) threw his name into the mix.

Serenity Cruise posted the swiftest final quarter in :27.1, but Nasey had just enough of an advance to take the victory by a head at the wire in 1:53.4. Mrmayor Hanover completed the triactor as the three longest odds on the board (7-1, 45-1, 10-1) controlled the top three spots.

Matthew McManus owns the five-year-old Pilgrims Chuckie - Youre So Fine gelding for his third win of the year. In 101 starts, Nasey has earned a record of 26-15-14 to go along with $267,381 banked. As the 7-1 upset victor, he returned $15.60 to win.
