The connections of horses entered to contest eliminations for the $600,000 William Haughton Memorial at the Meadowlands Racetrack have received some very good news
from the race office.
Instead of having to earn a spot in the lucrative and prestigious event, horses will be going straight into the final. Eliminations are not necessary since only nine of the continent's top older pacers were entered to contest the elims.
Instead, a $35,000 prep race has been scheduled for Saturday, July 4 at the New Jersey oval. Ontario-sired Mister Big has been installed as the early favourite. Brian Sears is scheduled to steer the millionaire son of Grinfromeartoear from Post 9.
