Rideau Carleton Raceway’s Sunday (July 19) card featured a pair of $9,200 Preferred events with Capteur De Reve capturing the trot and Take The Deal taking the pace.

Capteur De Reve rolled to the lead in the trot past a :28.3 first quarter and never looked back. Boo Thang mounted a first-over challenge moving to a :59 half and applied pressure through three-quarters in 1:28.1 but gave futile pursuit to Capteur De Reve through the stretch. The six-year-old Muscle Mass gelding hit the finish one-and-a-quarter lengths in front of Boo Thang with Wildwild Men taking third in a 1:57.2 mile.

Owned by Ecurie Provoquante, Capteur De Reve won his second race from five starts this season and his 21st from 62 overall, earning $261,327. Maxime Velyae trains the $4.20 winner while Jonathan Lachance sat in the sulky.

In the Preferred Pace, Take The Deal raced off the speed as Atomic Million AM set the pace past a :27.2 first quarter and through middle fractions of :56 and 1:23.1. Trainer-driver Guy Gagnon positioned Take The Deal third over heading to the half and launched the 10-year-old Western Ideal gelding three wide into the final turn. Entering the stretch Take The Deal reeled in Atomic Million AM, sliding to a length-a-quarter victory in 1:52.3. Aphro Star finished third.

Owned by Lisa Paquet, Take The Deal won his second race from five starts this season and his 18th from 90 overall, earning $92,547. He paid $10.40 to win.
