A new all-time wagering record was established on Friday, July 17 during the 150th anniversary season of harness racing in Summerside while Windemere Skye remained undefeated and Buckhead Ridge rewrote the track record book at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The 15-dash program generated $219,019 in wagering, the largest single-card handle in the history of racing in Summerside.

The program also had a reunion of previous announcers at the historic oval with each calling a race on the card.

Windemere Skye ($2.10) extended her perfect career record to 17 straight victories in the second $19,100 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division for three-year-old pacing fillies in race 13.

Marc Campbell sent the Earl Watts trainee directly to the front from post two in her fifth sophomore start and controlled fractions of :28.4, :58.4 and 1:28 before closing the mile in 28 seconds to win by three lengths in 1:56. Elm Grove Uncannie (Ken Murphy) finished second while Going For Blood (Kenny Arsenault) completed the triactor.

Windemere Skye, a daughter of Somewhere Fancy out of Howmac Missy with nearly $170,000 in career earnings, is owned by Windemere Farms of Springvale, P.E.I., and Matt Burke of Stratford, P.E.I.

Beach Jewels ($15.20) captured the other eventful $19,100 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division in race 10 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Kevin MacLean.

The daughter of Arthur Blue Chip-Preakness tracked the leaders before capitalizing on breaking fillies and pacing home in :28.3 to win by a neck in 1:57, matching her lifetime mark. Mysterious Ways (Adam Merner) finished second with Mattnificent Rose (Ken Murphy) third.

Beach Jewels improved to five-for-16 lifetime and now has earnings totalling $75,581 for owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford, P.E.I.

Buckhead Ridge ($2.50) demolished the Summerside Raceway trotting records with a 1:55.3 victory in the $8,000 Andrew Perry Memorial Trot in race eight for the father and son, driving and training team of Marc and Landon Campbell.

The six-year-old Nuncio-Tuonela gelding bested the previous all-age trotting track record of 1:57.1 set by three-year-old Bless Me Father in 2025.

The former aged trotting gelding record holder Fight Song (Jason Hughes) finished 1-1/2 lengths behind in second after setting splits of :28.3, :58.1 and 1:27.1, with Flemsteen (Ken Murphy) third best.

Advancing from third around the clubhouse turn, Buckhead Ridge took over second as pocket-sitter Desert Hayz (Corey MacPherson) broke stride then matched the leader in a final turn fight, pulling clear with a :28.1 last quarter.

Owned by Brady Doyle of Stratford, P.E.I., Buckhead Ridge is now four-for-eight this year. A career winner of 27 races, he's earned nearly $170,000 in 70 starts.
