One Wicked Man and Im Sir Scarlett have undefeated records to start their careers, winning the two Gold divisions of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts contested during the harness racing program at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Thursday, July 18.

The Prince County oval played host to the P.E.I. Colt Stakes for rookie pacing colts as Governor’s Plate Week racing continued Thursday evening. One Wicked Man won his $18,250 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division with an off-the-pace score in 1:59.1 for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault and owner James Perrot of Stratford. All My Lovin (Driven by David Dowling) grabbed second with Dilicious (Darryl MacLean) was third.

Im Sir Scarlet (pictured above) pounced in his P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division for two-year-old pacing colts as he started his career off in perfection with Darryl MacLean guiding the son of Malicious to a 2:00 flat victory in his $18,250 split. MacLean also co-owns and trains the colt for co-owners Gordon MacLean, Wade Peconi and Stephen Downey. Sergeant Crowley (Robert Laffin) cut the fractions and held on for second while Rosetown Eclipse (Corey MacPherson) was third.

The Derek Enman Memorial in the sixth race had Doc Darryl circle his foes in the stretch drive to win in 1:59.2 for driver Colin Sheppard and owner-trainer Morgan Sheppard of Brackley.

Trainer Jennifer Doyle scored a double with Lady Devine (Jason Hughes) winning Race 11 in 1:56.2 while Sharky (Damian MacLellan) ground out a 1:57.1 prevailing score in the eighth. Both wins were for owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe.
