'Athens', 'Narina' Win In Buckeye Series

Odds On Athens and Narina Hanover picked up their second wins of the Buckeye Stallion Series (BSS) in the third leg of the Three-Year-Old Filly Pace held Friday (July 17) at Eldorado Scioto Downs. Four divisions were contested with each division carrying a purse of $17,500.

Odds On Athens made it back-to-back wins as she went 1:53.4 with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. for Melanie Wrenn and owner Odds On Racing. The filly by Pet Rock out of Southern Magnolia got a pocket trip from post 8 and won by three-quarter lengths. The winner paid $2.80 after defeating Corner Pocket and Dan Noble while Arya Again with Chris Page finishing third.

Narina Hanover, a winner in the first leg of the BSS, went wire to wire from post 3 to score by two-and-three-quarter lengths in a lifetime-best 1:52 with Tyler Smith for Clarence Foulk. The Yankee Cruiser-Natural Paradise filly is owned by the Foulk Stables and William Hartt. Narina Hanover paid $3.80 to win and defeated Hoochie Girl and Kayne Kauffman with McKella and Aaron Merriman finishing third.

Violets Rainbow picked up her first BSS win of the year and her second-straight win, taking a lifetime mark of 1:53.3 for driver Trevor Smith and trainer Mark Wagner. The Art Official-Angels N Demons filly is owned by Stephen Sexton and paid $4.60 to win. Violets Rainbow got away fifth but tipped out past the quarter and parked through the finish, winning by a length. Cruisingatmidnight with Tyler Smith was second and Sara Jane and Chris Page finished third.

Crowntimerockette scored her fourth win of the season for Kayne Kauffman and Priscilla Mooney in a lifetime-best 1:51.4. Sired by Pet Rock out of Crown Time Keeper, Crowntimerockette got away from post 8 and never yielded the lead, going wire to wire to win by three-quarter lengths. The filly is owned by Ken James and paid $27.20 defeating Odds On Greenville with Ronnie Wrenn Jr while Dan Noble finished third with Bigrisk Cruiser.

The fourth leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series Three-Year-Old Filly Pace is scheduled for Tuesday (Aug. 18) at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
