Wall Street Journal Covers S-Bred Racing

It isn't every day that you see The Wall Street Journal shine its light on a harness racing story. The occurrence happened this week, and it was somewhat surprising to see what aspect of the industry the publication decided to tackle.

In a piece delving into the shoeing of standardbred racehorses, writer John W. Miller went to the Meadows in Pennsylvania to query horsemen and farriers about which type of shoe is better, aluminum or steel.

Miller received various opinions and insights into the different options. "Everybody comes in here looking for the magic shoe," farrier Chris Schoeffel told Miller while in the blacksmith shop.
