More Baby Races At Meadowlands

This week the Meadowlands Racetrack played host to nine baby races and Windfall Blue Chip turned in the most impressive performance of the day winning the fastest and final qualifier

in 1:54.3.

The two-year-old Art Major – Beach Dancer colt made his move at the mid-way point from third and landed on top by the third quarter station. Driven by Brian Sears, the George Teague, Jr. pupil stomped his way to an eight and a half length victory with his last quarter clocked in :27.2. Windfall Blue Chip, a $22,000 Harrisburg sale purchase, was a 14-length winner in 1:56 in his qualifier last week at Chester and finished fifth in his first outing on June 20 at the Big M.

On the trot, a pair of Dewayne Minor pupils put forth matching 1:59 victories. The Angus Hall – Baltic Brat filly, Levis Lady, front-stepped her way to a two and a quarter length score in the first qualifier after making breaks in her first two starts; a division of the Acorn Stakes on July 1 at the Meadowlands and a division of the W.N. Reynolds Memorial Stakes on July 10 at Pocono Downs. Wishing Stone and Tim Tetrick also used front-end tactics to win by a length and a quarter in the third qualifier for Minor. The Conway Hall – Meadowbranch Magic colt finished second by a neck in a division of the E.H. Harriman Cup on July 2 at the Meadowlands.
