Enola lost the lead briefly but easily reclaimed the top spot where it mattered to win in the $7,000 Prospect Series for two-year-old trotting fillies at Georgian Downs on Saturday night (July 16).
Driver Tyler Borth cleared command with the odds-on choice to lead by 3-3/4 lengths by a :30.1 first quarter and strolled to a 1:03.1 half under no pressure. Mass Envy blitzed her up the backside to open a 2-1/4-length lead to three-quarters in 1:34.1 but the Keith Jones-trained daughter of Resolve raced unfazed to the final turn. Slowly she took took aim at Mass Envy and kicked for home to grab the lead and win by a length in 2:04.3. Mass Envy settled for second and Over Yonder finished third.
Doug McCarthy owns Enola, who won $3,500 in winning on debut. She paid $3.70 to win.
