Another 'Majestic' Win For Stormont Garcon

Stormont Garcon has done it again. Keeping his freshman record untarnished, the Stormont Bronze colt front-stepped his way to victory in the second leg of the Majestic Son Trotting Series for two-year-olds Friday at Rideau Carleton Raceway

Stormont Garcon, a part of the favoured entry with Stormont Eagle (Darrell Coville), left the gate from Post 7 with regular reinsman Ted McDonald in tow and established the lead by the :29.4 quarter pole. He then proceeded to lead the field past the half in 1:01.2 and three-quarters in 1:31.4 before strolling home in the lone $7,500 division for the victory in 2:02.1 by a length and three-quarters.

Aristote Duharas (Stephane Brosseau) rode the pocket to finish second with Rea Bayama (Yves Filion) following in behind for third.

John McMillan handles the training duties for owner and breeder Eric Baker of Long Sault, Ont. Stormont Garcon in now four-for-four with $13,200 earned.

The series will continue every Friday in July with $7,500 divisions and wrap up on Sunday, August 9 with a $25,000 (added) final.
