There was no shortage of speed when it came to the three-year-old trotting fillies competing in Thursday’s set of $105,000 OSS Gold Series divisions at Mohawk Racetrack.

Muscle Baby Doll produced a career-best clocking of 1:53.1 in the opening tilt for the tandem of driver Doug McNair and trainer Tony O’Sullivan. The filly sat third while Aspen California threw down a :27.1 opener, but McNair had his charge on the move as soon as they hit the backstretch. Muscle Baby Doll cleared without a tussle, and she strolled through middle splits of :57.1 and 1:25.4 before turning on the afterburners in the lane. Her :27.2 closing quarter earned her the win by 1-3/4 lengths over Elegant Serenity. Taking home third prize was Amoureuse Hanover.

F Bellino And Sons LLC of Bronxville, NY owns the talented daughter of Muscle Mass-Have You Ever, who extended her winning streak to four-in-a-row. The nine-time winner has banked $328,840. She paid $3.10.

All That Sparkles turned a two-hole trip into a 12-1 upset in the second division. James MacDonald worked out a pocket ride for the maiden behind race favourite Stubborn Belle. That filly fired through fractions of :26.2, :56 and 1:25.3 before buckling under pressure. All That Sparkles roared out of the garden spot and fired home in :28.3 to win by four lengths over Second Sister in 1:54.2. LCM Marshmellow came on late to finish third.

Jonas Czernyson trains the daughter of Deweycheatumnhowe-Chocolate Tiara for Millstream Stable LLC of Allentown, NJ. The $6,000 purchase from the 2013 Harrisburg Yearling Sale has banked just shy of $75,000 to date. She paid $26.80.

The undercard featured a $14,000 trotting tilt for two-year-old fillies, with I Want Kandy turning in a front-stepping score for driver Sylvain Filion and trainer Scott McEneny. Filion put the filly on the lead from Post 6 and she cruised through soft fractions of :28.4, 1:00.3 and 1:31 before storming home in :28.2 to win in 1:59.2. She was 1-3/4 lengths better than runner-up Worldclass Hanover, with Krafty a bang-up third.

Purchased for $13,000 from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale, the daughter of Angus Hall-Celebrity Kandy is owned by Brad Grant, Teresa Davidson and Michelle McEneny.
