Trot Insider has learned that Woodbine Racetrack has cancelled its Wednesday night card of thoroughbred racing following the sixth race due to an evacuation of the OLG slots floor.
Woodbine Entertainment Group issued the following statement concerning the reason for the cancellation late Wednesday evening: "As a precautionary measure, the remainder of tonight's Woodbine card was cancelled following the completion of the sixth race due to an evacuation of the OLG slots floor."
Officials at Woodbine could not provide further details regarding the reason for evacuation at that time.
Shortly after midnight, Toronto Police allowed the OLG slots floor to re-open, according to an update provided by WEG on the situation. The building is now open for business to continue as normal.
