Filly Loua Dipa and supplemental entries Odds On Mr Mamba and No Waitlist were among 15 horses entered on Wednesday, July 15 for the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, presented by 1/ST BET, at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Two eliminations will be held on Saturday, July 18, carded as races six and seven, to determine the final nine-horse field for the 60th edition of the event for three-year-old pacers. The top four finishers in each $25,000 USD elimination plus the fifth-place finisher with the highest lifetime money earnings as determined by the United States Trotting Association will advance to the July 25 final.
Loua Dipa, trained by Ron Burke for the local ownership group of Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi, is the first filly entered in the Adios since With Thanks in 1969. She has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favourite in the first elimination, while stablemate Al Papi, fresh off a second-place effort in the Meadowlands Pace, is the 2-1 early choice in the second elimination. Al Papi is owned by the same connections, in partnership with J&T Silva, Purnell & Libby and Larry Karr.
North America Cup champion Odds On Mr Mamba, trained by Melanie Wrenn, and multiple stakes-placed No Waitlist, trained by Blake MacIntosh, have been supplemented to the Adios. The fee to supplement was $35,000 USD, pushing the purse for the final to $420,000 USD.
