Privilege made his Truro Raceway debut a winning one and continued his perfect July record with a 1:55.3 score in Friday's featured Winners Over Handicap Pace.
Driven by Todd Trites from the inside post, Privilege opened up a quick two-length lead off the gate in the $2,500 top class and cruised through fractions of :28.3, :58.4 and 1:27.3 en route to the 1-1/4-length victory. Last week's winner Risin Horizon (Darren Crowe) launched from the pocket turning for home while Rusty Riley (Paul Langille) rallied three-wide off cover but neither could catch the front-stepping favourite and settled for second and third, respectively.
Following back-to-back wins at Exhibition Park Raceway earlier this month, Privilege was the 4-5 favourite and paid $3.60 to win.
George Rennison trains the six-year-old Sunshine Beach gelding for owners Aiden Ferrish of Summerside, P.E.I. and the local All For Fun Stable.
A 20-time career winner, Privilege is nine-for-21 with nearly $40,000 banked in purses this season.
