Driver Brad Forward kicked off Grand River Raceway's Monday card of harness racing with a 21-1 upset victory in the first race to begin his five-win night.
After sending the Gord McDonnell-trained Rocknroll King ($44.40) down the road to win the opener, Forward reeled off four more wins on the 12-race program to push his seasonal win total to 136.
Forward also won the third race with Amigo Loco ($5.60) for trainer Andy Hardy and the sixth with Lou Lous Princess ($4.60) for Walter Whelan before going back-to-back in the 10th and 11th races with Just One Day ($6.60) for David Holliday and Victor Puddy trainee Thats The Life ($15).
A runner-up in the Elora track's 2013 drivers standings with 27 victories, Forward gained some ground on meet leader Trevor Henry, who has won 41 dashes so far this season.
