Wallace Optimistic With Rose Run Keepsake

Fresh off tying the Mohawk track record, trainer Ben Wallace feels very optimistic about Rose Run Keepsake’s chances in the single Armbro Flight elimination

tomorrow night at Mohawk Racetrack.

Last week the daughter of Armbro Laser joined Peaceful Way and Spare Time Rozie as the fastest older trotting mare at Mohawk Racetrack with a 1:52.1 effort.

“I wasn’t completely surprised by her 1:52.1 mile because when her previous trainer Randy Bendis sent her up to me he stated that she is a bit of a handful in the barn but she’s the real deal on the track. I felt she would go a good trip and the she passed some very credible mares (Windsong Soprano and Yursa Hanover),” Wallace told WEG’s media department.

“She has wicked speed for a piece of a mile but I don’t think her best stride is on the front end. If she’s getting tripped out and coming off a helmet I think she can trot by anybody,” Wallace commented.

With earnings just shy of $300,000, Rose Run Keepsake will leave from post 5 with Sylvain Filion handling the lines for owner Reed Broadway, Diane Novosel and James Walton.
