The decision of letohiovote.org not to pursue a statewide referendum in view of the public support for casinos has bolstered chances of early approval of slots at the state’s seven tracks.
The lottery commission is preparing regulations and Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, who has strongly backed the idea, is asking the courts to rule that slots at tracks are an extension of the state lottery, and not unconstitutional.
