In celebration of the 97th edition of America's greatest harness race, the Hambletonian Society, Meadowlands Racetrack and Ghost Hawk Brewing Company have once again teamed up to provide fans and guests with Trotter’s Gold 2022.
The $1 million Hambletonian will be raced the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 6 as the finale to the championship meet at the Meadowlands Racetrack. Post time is 12 noon.
Labeled “Trotters Gold 2022,” the Clifton, New Jersey-based brewery has produced a 4.5% abv golden ale.
It will be sold at the Meadowlands Racetrack starting Friday, July 15 and at Ghost Hawk Brewing. The beer can be rated on the Untappd website.
The 16 oz beer can label features 2021 Hambletonian winner Captain Corey.
“Last year’s beer was such a hit that we had to have Ghost Hawk brew another vintage for 2022,” said Rachel Ryan, Director of Marketing and Onsite Events. “This year’s beer is refreshingly crisp, perfect for a day at the track.”
Ghost Hawk Brewing Company is a collaborative effort between two Clifton natives, Tom Rachelski and Steve Bauer. Fuelled with the addition of decorated Brewmaster Chris Sheehan to the project in 2018, the brewery project kicked into high gear. Ghost Hawk Brewing Company opened its doors in April of 2019.
