All Turain and driver Brodie MacPhee won the second Governor’s Plate elimination Monday at Red Shores Summerside in 1:56.
MacPhee took the Trevor Hicken-trained All Turain to victory for the sixth time this season earning another appearance in the Governor’s Plate for owners Trevor and Lee Hicken. The pacer held off a late charging Judge Jon for the win, with Astor fading to third. Machinthesand finished fourth to secure the final spot in Saturday’s Governor’s Plate, which is presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge.
The two-year old colts competed in Atlantic Sires Stakes action with top honours going Putnams Legacy for Bernard McCallum in 2:01.4 and Camco Titan (Todd Trites) in 200.3 in their respective ‘A’ divisions.
Ross Melvino (Ryan Ellis) and Dark Thunder (Darren Crowe) won the ‘B’ divisions on the program.
