For the past three years, David Yarock, a financial planner and amateur driver, has coordinated the Edward Yarock/Edward Weiner Equine Scholarship Fund for students studying in the equine field and/or for children of employees in the industry
.
“Our scholarship funds, which began in 2008, honour the memories of my father Edward Yarock and my stepfather, Dr. Edward Weiner,” Yarock said. “They were both kind hearted and empathetic and inspirational to the people they came I contact with.”
Recently the Edward Yarock/Edward Weiner Scholarship winners have been announced. According to Yarock the following recipients will each receive a $2,500 scholarship. They are Chelsea Fahy, Stephanie Huebner, Ashleigh Renee Smith and Riyah Meyers.
Earlier this season a special award in memory of Yarock’s father-in-law has been added and will be known as the Donald Meyer Memorial Scholarship Fund. The recipients of this award are Ashleigh Renee Smith and Marguerite Hesser-Frazer and each will receive a $1,750 scholarships.
“We are very proud to be offering scholarships to those in the equine industry and we are hoping to expand our program in the future,” Yarock said.
