Fredericton Raceway played host to a 12-dash card of harness racing on Saturday afternoon and had the perfect weather for the exciting program, presented by Horse Racing New Brunswick (HRNB).

Gordon Hennessey, who hails from Moncton, was clicking on all cylinders on the afternoon scoring three winners. He won with two Louis Belliveau-trained entries, including Funonastar, who made ever post a winning call in 2:01. He also guided Paladale to a winning effort for Belliveau in 2:01. Hennessey completed the hat-trick with his own trainee After Lunch Larry for owner Gisele Bernard, also of Moncton, nosing out a slim victory in 1:59.

The fastest of the afternoon was by American Captain, who scorched his way to a 1:56.4 jaw-dropping performance in the feature race. Trainer Mike Campbell drove the four-year-old pacer to his second straight win and did so with authority for local owner Ronald Roy.

Racing returns to Saint John on the 20th of July, with post time at 1 p.m.
