An accident involving four horses and drivers in Friday night's New York Sire Stakes at Buffalo Raceway sent Jack Flanigen and Ray Fisher Jr. to the hospital.

My American Tallia had the lead with driver Andrew McCarthy in the bike. The two-year-old filly broke stride at the top of the stretch and swerved sideways into Sweetnsinful and reinsman Jimmy Whittemore. My American Tallia then fell to the ground causing a chain reaction involving Flanigen and Fisher.

Officials at Buffalo Raceway have reported that all horses appear to be fine, but have not received word yet on the conditions of the two drivers sent to hospital. McCarthy and Whittemore drove in later races and escaped with just bumps and bruises.

The race was won by Suplemental Income ($2.50), driven by Jim Morrill Jr. for New York owners Jennifer and Janice Connor. It was the second lifetime win for the daughter of Bettors Delight, who stopped the clock in 1:58.4.

In the other sire stakes split, also worth $57,443, Mind Over Matter (sired by Art Major) and driver Jeff Gregory went gate-to-wire in 1:59 to register her second lifetime win in three attempts. Eric Adams trains the filly for Miller Farms of Newmarket Ont.
