Its Complicated and Josh Sutton equalled the Scioto Downs track record for four-year-old trotting geldings of 1:53 on Friday night in the $25,000 Open Trot.

The four-year-old gelding by Sjs Caviar out of Before The Rain has four wins in his last five efforts.

Its Complicated started from post two in the field of nine for trainer Brent Davis and the Hatfield Stables. Sutton used the inside post to his advantage and alertly left for the lead, but they had company from Jason Brewer and Somebody As from post eight. Sutton grabbed leather as they clocked the opening quarter in :27.3. They wanted the lead as the 9-5 favourite and came out to take over, clearing before the half-mile, trotted in :56.1. The pair had a comfortable lead as they headed to three-quarters in 1:24. Its Complicated held off a late rally from Fusion Man, who was second, while Somebody As was third.

Igottafeelinfran and Greg Grismore won the Carol Cramer $25,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace in a career-best 1:51.1.

The four-year-old mare by Feelin Friskie out of Fran Anna is conditioned by Jim Dailey for the connections of Jerry Zosel, Kathy Ratcliff and Kimberly Dailey.

Igottafeelinfran started from post four after a scratch and was unhurried in the early going. Grismore got away last in the field of six. Betterluvnexttime and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. used their rail post and pushed the gate away, determined to set the fractions in this short field. They paced an opening quarter in :26.1. When they continued on to the half way point in :55, Grismore decided it was time to move. The pair was sitting fifth when they hit three-quarters in 1:22.3, behind the cover of Continual Velocity, driven by Chris Page. When Grismore asked for more, the mare responded in a big way, pacing her final quarter in :27.4 and beating Continual Velocity by a neck while Betterluvnexttime held on for third.

Racing continues on Saturday (July 12) with Back To The Track activities. First race post time is 6:30 p.m.
