Bubbles Promise notched her second win of the 2009 campaign thanks to her 2:02.2 decision in her assignment for the duo of driver Greg Manning and trainer Donald Anness. The daughter of Firm Friend-Bubbles Seelster shot to immediate command from her rail post position, and she never looked back through panels of :30.2, 1:01 and 131.1. Alcars Spud Baran was second and Sues Prince finished third.
After putting together a 4-2-0 record in six starts as a rookie, Bubbles Promise has assembled a 2-0-1 record in her first three tries this season.
Betts Karma is now perfect in three starts thanks to her career-best clocking of 2:02.1 in the second elimination for driver Darryl Mason and trainer Donald Anness. The daughter of Firm Friend-Cute N Crafty laid down sensible fractions of :31.1, 1:02 and 1:32.2 before sprinting home in :29.4 to post the one-length decision over Great Gates. Third prize went to race favourite Heartland Icicle.
Donald and Sheila Anness of Emo, Ontario hold the papers on the youngster, who was unraced as a rookie. She has stashed away $6,433 to date.
