Anothrmastrpiece N picked up his biggest win since coming over from
Driven by Jason Bartlett and starting from post one, Anothrmastrpiece N shot right to the front and led his seven foes through fractions of :27.3, :56.3, and 1:23.4. Anothrmastrpiece N was able to fend off a first-over bid by Priceless Beach (Matt Kakaley) on the last turn, and did the same when pocket-sitter Red Right Hand (Scott Zeron) came to the outside in the lane, defeating that foe by half a length in 1:51.2. MGM Borgata Pacing Series and Battle of Lake Erie champion Funatthebeach N (Jordan Stratton) came in third.
Shane Tritton trains Anothrmastrpiece N, a seven-year-old Bettors Delight stallion, for owner Team Tritton Inc. This was Anothrmastrpiece N’s 21st win from 57 career starts, and he has now earned $454,504. Anothrmastrpiece N paid $11 to win as the 9-2 third choice.
That was one of a series of upsets during the card, as favourites went just one-for-nine. As a result, the Pick 5 and Pick 6 both went unsolved, leading to an $8,807.02 carryover and a $20,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick 5 and a $2,446.47 carryover in the Pick 6 on Tuesday night’s (July 12) program.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. The Pick 5, which begins in race five, and the Pick 6, which gets underway in race three, both have a takeout rate of 20 percent.
In other news, Yonkers Raceway will host stakes action on both Tuesday and Saturday (July 16) this week. The New York Sire Stakes circuit will visit the oval on Tuesday for a pair of $85,500 divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies, and on Saturday, the $100,000 final of the MGM Springfield Stakes for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers will take place.
