The upset-driven Myles Heffernan Jr. stable was razor sharp in three-year-old pacing filly Atlantic Sires Stakes action on Friday evening (July 10) at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as part of Governor’s Plate week.
Lorne Valley Barb scored a 19-1 shocker in her $9,360 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division for sophomore fillies. Myles Heffernan Sr. was in the bike behind his son’s trainee for the 1:57.2 upset for owner Barry Macleod of Cardigan, P.E.I.
The Heffernan stable also won a $2,500 'B' division in 1:58.2 with Woodmere Harriet for driver Greg Bailey at 21-1.
Dustylane Zambucca was another 1:56.3 upset winner in her $9,360 Sires Stakes 'A' split for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer Ron Gass and owner Dianne Gass of Cornwall, P.E.I.
The other 'A' division was claimed by Woodmere Skyroller and Brodie MacPhee in 1:56 for trainer Kevin Maclean and owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford, P.E.I.
Ezra Express prevailed in her $2,500 'B' division in a blistering 1:56.4 for trainer/driver Marc Campbell.
Glider Man was a winner in the $2,700 Andrew Perry Memorial Trot in a front-end score of 1:58.4 for driver Kenny Arsenault, co-owner and trainer Jennifer Doyle and co-owner Danny Birt of Earnescliffe, P.E.I.
Jason Hughes celebrated a driving triple including two wins from his own stable.
