The betting public was bang on when making Parisian Blue Chip an overwhelming favourite in Thursday’s $8,400 Fillies & Mares Preferred at Rideau Carleton Raceway, as the Shawn Steacy trainee thumped the six foes she sparred with.
With Clarke Steacy at the lines, Parisian Blue Chip hustled to the lead from Post 6 and carved out fractions of :28, :57.1 and 1:26 before storming home in :27.2 to win by 5-1/4 lengths over Thinkingofyougabe in 1:53.2. Arrhythmogenic was third.
Sent off at odds of 1-2, the six-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-She Walks The Walk won for the first time this season from nine attempts for owners Stephen Klunowski and David McDonald. The 17-time winner lifted her lifetime earnings to $338,919 with the victory.
It was a solid day at the office for trainer Mandy Archer thanks to her three-win performance on the 11-race card.
Archer watched as stablemates Malvolio (Race 3 – 1:55.2), The Twist (Race 5 – 1:57.2) and Windsong Quincy (Race 9 – 1:54) visited victory lane.
