Making her pari-mutuel debut, Bad Vendetta wired the field in the $4,400 Ethel Fritz Memorial at Hanover Raceway, winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.4.

Leaving from post 3 Bad Vendetta took control and paced to the quarter in :31 ahead of Casimir Rambler grabbing the pocket from post 1. Onecentfromheaven, the favourite and parked from the start, sat wide in third as Bad Vendetta continued unchallenged through a 1:01 half and three-quarters in 1:29.3. Casimir Rambler cut into the pacesetter’s two-and-one-quarter length margin into the stretch but still finished second with Onecentfromheaven held on for third.

A three-year-old filly by Badlands Hanover from the Artsplace mare Vendetta, Bad Vendetta, owned by JJS Stables, returned $9.80 to win. Trainer Walter Tymcio sat in the bike.

Also on the Saturday card were two divisions for the Sharpes Feed Series opening preliminary, won by Ferrarifever and Shadows In Town.

Sitting a pocket trip, Ferrarifever took control from pacesetter U Dance Too following splits of :27.1, :57.1 and 1:26.2 to win by one-and-a-half lengths over odds-on favourite Br Royal Boom rallying first over. Famous Earl, sitting a rail trip, edged past U Dance Too to take third.

Owned by Claude Poirier, Ferrarifever, a three-year-old gelding by Mach Three from the Astreos mare Cinny Fever, won her second race in 10 starts this season and in 15 starts overall, earning $15,710. Trained by Michel Rivest and driven by Bruce Richardson, he paid $5.40 to win.

Richardson also piloted Shadows In Town to a pocket-popping victory, besting favourite Froome by three-and-one-quarter lengths in 1:57.4. The four-year-old stallion by Shadow Play sat behind fractions of :27.2, :56.4 and 1:26.3 before making his move for the lead into the stretch. Uncle Bill rounded out the top three.

Paying $9.30 to win, Shadows In Town, owned by Murray Ferguson Jr. and trained by Chad Milner, won his first race in eight starts this season and his second in 15 overall, earning $11,125.
