Ruhl Takes Two Baby To Boomer Splits

Trainer Paul Ruhl won half of the opening leg divisions of the Baby To Boomer Pacing Series on Saturday night at Sudbury Downs.

Ruhl trainee Twin B Turbo went wire-to-wire to win the fastest $6,500 division in 1:57.2 by over three lengths with Richard Baker in the sulky. The three-year-old Shark Gesture gelding earned his first career victory from 11 starts for owner James Ruhl of Tara, Ont.

Ruhl's other winner was three-year-old Armbro Deuce gelding Pass The Deuce in 2:00 with Jason Ryan aboard.

The other division winners were four-year-old Camluck mare Wildcat Champagne in 1:59 for teamster Justin Turcotte and conditioner Roger Brown and three-year-old Jennas Beach Boy gelding Joshua My Boy in 1:58 with Gerry Belanger aboard for trainer Melanie Lemoine.

The Baby To Boomer Pacing Series is a late closer for horses that are five years old and younger that are non winners of one race or $7,500 in lifetime purses. Fillies and mares are allowed $10,000. Winners over $15,000 lifetime are not eligible.
