Shooting through the passing lane, Audreys Dream collared favourite Hidden Potential at the wire to win the $8,500 Preferred 3 Pace featured on Friday night's harness racing card at Grand River Raceway.
The pacesetting favourite Hidden Potential (:27.2, :56.4, 1:25.2) fought back against challenger Mac Raider but the pocket-sitting Audreys Dream closed inside to steal the glory at the end of the 1:54.4 mile. Mac Raider settled for third, one and a quarter lengths behind.
Owned by trainer Ashleigh Hensley and driver Ed Hensley, the 10-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding defeated Hidden Potential by a head for his 43rd career win. The victory was his first at Grand River Raceway, following two prior starts in his 210-race career over the Elora oval back in 2012.
Audreys Dream paid $10.30 to win as the 4-1 second choice.
