Dresden Agricultural Society President Lucille Laprise has said that particular factors will determine whether or not Dresden Raceway will have a make-up date for its May 31 card that it was forced to cancel due to torrential rain.

Dresden, along with Clinton Raceway, was forced to cancel its scheduled May 31 program of live racing due to the significant rainfall.

The Chatham Daily News has run an article in regard to the family of the late Bill Townsend donating a 130-year-old sulky to Dresden Raceway to honour the local roots of harness racing.

In the Chatham Daily News article, Laprise was cited as saying that “horse availability” is one of the factors that will ultimately determine whether Dresden will look to reschedule the washed-out card or not.

Laprise was quoted as saying that Dresden officials “wouldn't want to take away from other tracks."

Dresden’s 2015 live race meet got underway on Sunday, June 7. Robert Sparling Jr. was the driving star of the day, as he made four trips to the winner’s circle. Cathy Gaudreau topped all trainers, as her stable went a perfect three-for-three.
