Tijuana Seelster won the $8,800 feature class on Wednesday evening (June 7) at Grand River Raceway.
Colin Kelly was in the bike for the card opener as they headed to the gate as the third choice from post six. The pair got away third through the opening panel in :28 and half in :58.1 as Alcina (Jason Ryan) led the field. Kelly pulled the right line before the three-quarters in 1:28 and Tijuana Seelster took over around the final turn. Down the stretch, Tijuana Seelster fended off Toscano Girl (J Harris) to win by a head in 1:59.2. Halo Its Heaven (Tyler Borth) was third.
Tijuana Seelster is a four-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass with seven career wins and $58,069 in lifetime earnings. Jacob Roberts trains Tijuana Seelster for Triple S Equine. She paid $8.30 to win.
