Three decades of training horses has resulted in a pile of wins for trainer Jack Harris, and on Friday evening at Grand River Raceway he savoured a memorable score.

Harris enjoyed the 1,000th win of his training career, and he got to pair up with one of his sons, J Harris, in the process.

Team Harris joined forces to capture Race 2 with Howmacfiesty, who wired up her foes to score convincingly in 1:55.1.

The win milestone follows up shortly after Jack Harris put up a money milestone earlier this year when he surpassed the $5 million mark in career earnings.

Later on the program Twice An Angel front-stepped to a 1:57.3 triumph in the $8,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 for driver Scott Coulter and owner/trainer Jodie Cullen.

Coulter dished out splits of :28.4, :59.4 and 1:28.3 with the six-year-old daughter of Dragon Again-Darling Angel before using a :29-second closing quarter to win by a half-length margin over Katniss S BG. Woodmere Wyldstyle was third.

Sent off as the 2-1 favourite, Twice An Angel extended her winning streak to two-in-a-row while racking up the 14th win of her career. The distaffer has banked more than $160,000 to date.
