A pair of pacers from the first crop by Feelin Friskie got good reviews from horsemen after winning baby races at Scioto Downs on Tuesday
Feelin Perfect won in a sharp 1:57.4 for trainer-driver Guy Malone, who sent him to the front at the start. He led by open lengths throughout the mile and cruised to the wire five lengths ahead of his pursuers His final half-mile was covered in a :57-second clip. Jetstream Friskie, also by Feelin Friskie, was second, timed in 1:58.4.
One race later Chip Noble won with Feeling Cornered, another freshman by Feelin Friskie, as he prevailed in a tight finish in a 1:59.2 mile, final half-mile in :58.2. Again, the Feelin Friskie colt Gun Show was second.
Noble also won with the juvenile trotter Trottin Tiger in 2:03.2 in a wire-to-wire performance. The son of Mossy Oak is trained by Mark Gillenwater.
In other action for pacing freshmen, Awesome Andrea J won for trainer-driver Kevin Johnson in 2:01. The daughter of Crown Time Big Ben prevailed in a tight photo over Caviart Cara (Western Ideal) who closed with a rush to edge Chip Did It (Nobleland Sam) for second.
