Steward Triples At Little Saratoga

Eighteen-year-old driver Nick Steward gave other drivers a glimpse of what his future looks like after

notching three wins on Sunday afternoon at Dresden Raceway.

Steward made his first trip to the winner’s circle in the second race as he guided Charlottes Star to a new lifetime mark of 2:03.3 for owner Larry Brennan of Howell, MI. The three-year-old Intrepid Seelster filly is trained by Todd Kennedy.

Steward scored his driving double with Callmeinthemorning in the seventh race as he brought the four-year-old Western Maverick mare from off the pace to win in 1:59.2. The Todd Kennedy trainee is owned by Dennis and Janet Fairall of Windsor and Fred and Kelvin Sivyer of Tillsonburg.

The third win of the day for the rookie driver was in the tenth race when he drove Cuban Seelster to a 1:55.4 score - the fastest mile of the day. The five-year-old Intrepid Seelster gelding is owned by McCarthy Farms Ltd., Dr. Tara Foy, Don Thomson and trainer Ray Bunn.

Steward has clicked for 24 winners in his rookie season, and that translates into more than $160,000 in purse earnings.
