William Roberts' Starship was an upset winner in the $20,000 Open Monday at Harrington Raceway in 1:51.4.
The five-year-old Captaintreacherous gelding and driver Art Stafford, Jr. were first-over winners over Thornbush
Starship battled pacesetter Sprocket to the three-quarters before the latter yielded in mid-stretch. Starship recorded his second straight win after a blowout win on May 29 at Ocean Downs.
Trained by owner Roberts, it was the seventh win of the year for Starship, who has banked $55,165 this year. He paid $25.00 to win.
Tony Morgan had three wins on the card. Pat Berry and Art Stafford, Jr. each had a double.
