Plainridge Feature To Moneyorroses

Moneyorroses continued to enhance an already career year by adding another win to his resume after taking the $15,000 feature pace at Plainridge Park on Monday afternoon.

Moneyorroses (Kevin Switzer, Jr.) sat second at the quarter behind Anvil Hands (Jim Hardy) but pulled in front of the stands and took the lead for good at that point. After getting to the half in :56.4, Moneyorroses was under attack by Lyons Legacy (Shawn Thayer) who came first-over as they headed up the backstretch.

The field was tight heading into the last turn but Moneyorroses was stout and held his ground. With Lyons Legacy still at his flank, Switzer kept Moneyorroses rolling and took an open length lead into the stretch. At that point Select Friday (Matty Athearn) was flying wide and Paddy All Day (Drew Campbell) burst through the pylons and joined Lyons Legacy in the chase. But Moneyorroses closed it out with a half-length win in a career best 1:54.2.

It was the fourth win of the year for Moneyorroses ($8.00) who hasn't missed the board in seven Plainridge starts this year. Zach Vickerson both owns and trains the winner.

In the $12,500 conditioned secondary feature, Bettor Cat (Nick Graffam) pulled second-over past the half, tipped and cleared the front at the top of the stretch and paced away to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:52.4.

It was the third straight win and fifth of the year for Bettor Cat ($2.60) who is owned by Desiree Dessureault and Diane Whittemore who just claimed him last week. Mario Dessureault trains the winner.

Nick Graffam, Bruce Ranger and Kevin Switzer, Jr. were the leading drivers on Monday, scoring two wins apiece.

Live racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Tuesday (June 7) with post time at 4 p.m.
