An article by The Courier-Journal states that the May 10, 2011 passing of thoroughbred jockey Michael Baze was due to an overdose, or multiple substance intoxication.

The report cites Kentucky's Jefferson County Coroner Jim Wesley as saying that toxicology findings from the 24-year-old rider showed cocaine and the prescription painkiller oxymorphone (aka opana) in his system. Levels of the drug in Baze's system are not going to be released.
