Rock N Roll Heaven's mile was the fastest by a freshman this season on a 5/8-mile track and equals the fastest mile on any size track by a two-year-old in 2009. The son of Rocknroll Hanover was guided by David Myers for trainer-owner Roy Ohagan.

The freshman pacing filly Lullaby Til Dawn (Dawn Ofa New Day) won in 1:58.4, the fastest mile by a two-year-old pacing filly on any size track this season. Driver Del S. Miller put her in the two-hole behind Caviart Kiss (The Panderosa) and she came on in the stretch to win by a neck. Jim Arledge, Jr. trains both fillies.

Other fast juvenile winners at Scioto were the pacer Hangon Cowboy (Ruster Hanover) in 1:59 and the trotters Medoland Jesse (2:04) and Sing Jesse Sing (2:04.2). Both trotting winners were sired by Jailhouse Jesse and were driven by Chris Page for trainer Mike Medors.
