Reports indicate that Yonkers Raceway could be resuming activity around the middle of the month.
"The SOA of NY has learned that Yonkers intends to hold qualifiers on Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16 with live racing tentatively set for the following Monday (June 22), Tuesday (June 23) and Thursday (June 25) as we take small steps back to normalcy," said SOA of NY President Joe Faraldo in a statement issued on Friday. "At the moment racing will be conducted three days per week, and at reduced purses. Those days of the week are currently set for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
"We hope that alternative gaming gets back in operation as soon as possible so decisions can be made to expand race days down the road and we can gradually return to business as we once knew it," continued Faraldo. "Lastly, we are endeavouring to find out how best to comply with the gaming commission and other state agency protocols."
