Lyndale Royal was a wide-open winner in the afternoon's top class as Inverness Raceway hosted its first harness racing card of the 2016 season on Sunday, June 5.
Donald Kennedy's Lyndale Royal took the lead past the half-mile mark and drew off to win the $900 Winners Over Pace by more than six lengths in 2:00.1. Tymal Torrence finished second in the feature for Joseph Poirier, who was victorious one race prior with Anthony Beaton trainee Schooner in the fastest mile of the day, which was clocked in 1:59 flat.
The three-year-old maiden-breaking colt Woodmere Terror and trainer/driver Andrew MacLean opened the season earlier with a 2:02.3 quarter-length victory over Warrawee Raven and Ryan Campbell.
