MacDonald Wins Five At Georgian

Driver Anthony MacDonald dominated Saturday night's harness racing program at Georgian Downs, winning half of the 10 races

MacDonald, currently one of Canada's top 10 drivers for wins this year, set the tone for the rest of the night with a victory in the opener for trainer John Curran aboard Back Yard Baby ($3.70). He then picked up back-to-back wins in the third and fourth races with Pebble Creek ($7) for Barry Bird and Isthatallyagot ($4.50) for Rene Allard. MacDonald went back-to-back again in races six and seven aboard Allard trainee Holdmybeer ($6.60) and Amigo Loco ($6.80) for Ron Molendyk to complete his productive night.

MacDonald's five bagger pushed his win totals to 144 for the year and 1,724 lifetime. The resident of Guelph, Ont. is closing in on $14 million in career earnings.
