Joxter took the $7,700 Open Trot at Vernon Downs on Saturday (June 4).
Credit List led to the first quarter in :28.4. Joxter went first over from fourth as they reached the backstretch. Credit List had a slight lead to the half in :59.1. The two of them battled all the way to the final turn. Joxter cleared to the front and led to three-quarters in 1:26.3.
Joxter went wide off the turn as they reached the stretch. Credit List was back in the race along the pylons. Joxter refused to be denied and held on to win in 1:54.4. Credit List had to settle for second. Only Passing Thru finished third.
Joxter is a four-year-old gelding by Chapter Seven. He is owned by Ann-Mari Daley and trained by driver Dan Daley. It was his second win in 2022. He paid $5.30 to win.
Daley had a trainer-driver double as he also won with Grey Cloud ($3.90). Justin Huckabone and Barton Dalious had driving doubles. Misty Carey and Joe Sansone had training doubles.
